Worker's Compensation
Today, all fifty states have workers’ compensation laws. The general goal of workers’ compensation is to alleviate the plight of the injured worker and employer by providing the following:
- Pay medical and lost wage benefits promptly to injured workers or their dependents
- Eliminate delays and costs of litigation to the injured worker and society
- Establish a guaranteed benefit schedule
- Promote safety by educating employers on the relationship between accident prevention and the reduced cost of workers’ compensation premiums.
