Insurance Fraud

Our Special Investigation Unit (SIU) and staff of claims professionals are dedicated in their effort to combat insurance fraud. Insurance fraud is a crime. Did you know that people who commit insurance fraud steal billions of dollars each year? It cost insurers and their customers, including you, an estimated $150 billion annually, or $1,800 per family. Who Pays?We all pay. Fraud raises your insurance premiums, and it ends up costing you money. Fraudulent insurance claims take more than 30 cents out of every dollar you pay for premiums. Help us, yourself and other honest insureds by reporting:

    • Intentionally set fires designed to collect insurance proceeds.
      • Staged accidents such as a slip and fall or a staged auto accident.
        • Inflated claims such as exaggerated or phony costs. Questionable workers compensation claims such as misrepresenting ability to work.

What do I do if I suspect fraud? To report any suspicious acts of fraud, you may email us or you may call 1-800-877-3579, ext. 1047 anytime. Only our fraud professionals will have access to the information you provide and all information provided will be kept in the strictest confidence.
