Columbia Insurance Group Announces New Chief Underwriting Officer
Columbia Insurance Group (CIG) is pleased to introduce Keith Maciejewski as the next chief underwriting officer. Maciejewski joined the executive team on April 29 and will lead all corporate and field underwriting as well as product development operations.
“We are excited to welcome Keith to the team,” said Todd Ruthruff, CIG president and chief executive officer. “Keith’s balanced approach to disciplined underwriting and calculated risk taking are attributes that will aid in achieving our vision to be the most valuable commercial insurer in our markets.”
Maciejewski has built a 17-year career in both underwriting and product development roles, including experience creating and maintaining company rates, rules and forms.
“Keith brings significant experience in various areas including middle market, product development and workers compensation, which will be beneficial in helping us expand and diversify,” Ruthruff said.
Maciejewski said joining the CIG team was something he could not pass up. “Every individual at every level has a passion to grow the company and create something really special,” he said. “The energy of this team is infectious, and I really believe that this energy can be our differentiator in the market.”
CIG’s incredibly strong foundation also provides for future opportunities Maciejewski said. “I am so excited to be joining a carrier with a rich history, strong agency relationships and focus, and tremendous opportunity,” he said. “As we look to build the company, we're very lucky that we can leverage the financial strength built in the past to springboard us into our future.”
Maciejewski joins CIG after serving as the vice president of underwriting for the public risk group of a global specialty insurance carrier. He replaces Scott Mackey who retired in August 2023.
